Financial Support
Adult learners can apply for grants and bursaries to help pay for training. Usually, you don’t have to pay this money back. For most grants and bursaries you apply directly to the organisation that gives them out. Some of these will be independent but be run in collaboration with government initiatives while others are run by banks or finance companies.
Career development loans are also an option to consider but will require repayment over a period of time.
In many cases grants and loans may be based on starting the business itself. Different sources of funding are available from public and private bodies and can depend on your location and circumstances. Regional development grants and loans can be available to support new or developing industries in specific areas such as for coastal regeneration or rural diversification. Search for further details with your local authority or industrial development agency for details.
Other industry support bodies may work through universities or research funding systems such as the government’s innovation grants scheme or through bodies encouraging training of specific groups.
In many cases funding for training can be built into a business support or start up application particularly if you have a novel product to develop. It is also possible to obtain additional tax relief on investments involving research. Including training in your business plan also provides credibility to funding sources including banks as it indicates that you have a strong commitment to staff and long term development. They will have an application form and will be able to tell you if you qualify.
Brewlab courses are accredited for their quality of provision and will be suitably regarded as providing professional standard to support funding applications.
